We have released an obfuscation update to the Bismuth release of Perspectium to facilitate customer GDPR compliance efforts.
How do you ensure that you remain in GDPR compliance after a data-cleansing exercise? When moving data to service providers or even internally, how will you identify personally identifiable information (PII) when it needs to be removed or updated? This update will provide three new ways to obfuscate data as you move it with Perspectium, and will be a big help to anyone working on GDPR compliance.
Best of all, this update is available at no charge to Perspectium customers, and you can start using it straight away.
Obfuscation by Field
Obfuscate data stored in specific fields when moving that data. This form of masking is useful for fields that commonly contain personally identifiable information - like name fields, phone number fields, email address fields and more.
Obfuscation by Pattern
Obfuscate data matching a pattern when moving that data. This form of masking is useful for free-text fields that may contain personally identifiable information with a known pattern - such as social security numbers, email addresses, phone numbers and more.
Obfuscation by Reference
Obfuscate information that matches text from an uploaded data set when moving that information. This form of masking is useful for free-text fields that may contain personally identifiable data that can be uploaded from an external source - such as a list of employee names (imported from Active Directory).
Obfuscation within Instance
Obfuscate existing data within your ServiceNow instance by moving it to the Perspectium cloud and back again. This form of obfuscation is useful for requested removals of personally identifiable information from existing data, and can use any of the three methods described above.
